The meltdown at bedtime. The power struggle over shoes. The moment your voice gets louder than you meant it to, and the guilt that follows.
As a mom of three, I know these moments well. Parenting support gives you a space to understand what's happening underneath your child's behavior and underneath your own reactions, so you can respond instead of react.
Parents often come to me when
- Tantrums, defiance, or big emotions feel constant and overwhelming
- You find yourself yelling, threatening, or shutting down, then feeling guilty
- You and your partner disagree about discipline or rules
- A new sibling, divorce, move, or blended family has unsettled your kids
- Your own childhood shows up in your parenting in ways you don't want
- Your connection with an older child or teen feels strained
How parenting sessions work
Parenting sessions are usually with you, the parent or parents, without your child in the room. Using an attachment-focused, trauma-informed lens, we look at what your child's behavior is communicating and what gets triggered in you.
Then we build practical tools you can use the same day: ways to stay regulated, set limits with warmth, and repair after a hard moment. When it helps, we can bring the whole family in (see Family Therapy).
What changes
- Fewer blowups, and faster recovery when they happen
- Limits your kids actually respect, delivered without yelling
- A parenting team that's on the same page
- A closer, more secure relationship with your child
