Frequently asked questions
Do you take insurance?
I'm a private-pay practice. I can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
How quickly will I hear back?
I typically reply within 12–24 hours, and always within 48. You're welcome to call or text 864-479-6419; texts go through a HIPAA-compliant service.
Do you offer in-person and online sessions?
Yes. I see clients in person at my office at 100 Lavinia Ave in Greenville, SC and by secure video for clients located anywhere in South Carolina or North Carolina.
Do you see clients in North Carolina?
Yes. I'm licensed in both South Carolina and North Carolina, so I can see you online as long as you're in either state during your session. NC residents are also welcome at my Greenville office.
What does LMFTA mean?
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) in both South Carolina and North Carolina. That means I hold a master's degree in marriage and family therapy and am licensed by both state boards to provide therapy.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, with a few legal exceptions, such as a risk of serious harm to yourself or others or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult. We'll go over this in detail before we start.
What if one partner is more hesitant than the other?
That's very common. The free consultation lets both of you meet me and ask questions before deciding.
What's your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged half the session fee, and missed sessions are charged the full session fee.
What ages do you work with?
All ages. I work with children, teens, adults, couples and whole families.
What if we're not a good fit?
I'll tell you honestly and help you find someone who is.
What if I'm in crisis?
This practice isn't set up for emergencies. If you're in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911.
Ready to talk?
A free 15-minute call is the easiest first step. You'll get a feel for how I work, ask anything you want, and we'll decide together whether I'm the right fit.
